Attorney Licensed after January 1, 2009
     Attorney licensed less than a year.  Dues are waived for first year attorneys (one fiscal year only).
Attorney in Private Practice/Firm
    

Attorneys who are licensed to practice in Texas, in good standing with State Bar of Texas, and maintaining an office or residence in Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr or Willacy Counties. Such attorneys meeting these membership criteria are “voting members” of the HCBA.

Associate Member
    

Attorneys who are in good standing with the State Bar of Texas, but do not maintain an office or residence in Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy, or Starr Counties. Such attorneys are “nonvoting” members of the HCBA.

Judge or Government/Public Service Lawyer
     Judge or attorney employed full time for the federal, state, or county government, or, employed full time for a not-for-profit public service organization such as Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc.
Emeritus Member
     Attorney who is at least 75 years of age or practicing 50 years or longer.  Dues are waived for Emeritus Members.
