The Hidalgo County Bar Association’s (HCBA) fiscal year runs June through May.  For more than 80 years, the HCBA has proudly served an ever increasing membership of lawyers and judges.  Our membership of 680 plus receive quality local live CLE programs; our “award winning” monthly newsletter publication The Summons; participation in our bi-annual Settlement Week programs; and participation in our law sections (Family Law, Real Estate Law, and Senior Bar), general meetings and forums, special receptions, and family nights.

It is the Mission of the HCBA to:

·      Promote and encourage the highest level of honesty, competence, ethics and professionalism among members of the bar.

·       Educate and inform the public in order to increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of the legal system.

·      Serve the community through the support of free legal service projects, educational programs, charitable activities and other public service events.

·      Promote the fair and efficient administration of justice.

·      Cultivate fellowship and promote voluntarism among the members of the bar.

·      Encourage the free exchange of information and ideas about the law and the legal profession among the members.

This is accomplished through our many member programs and services.
