Holiday Toy Drive.  Each year, the Hidalgo County Bar Foundation conducts a toy drive to benefit area children who might not otherwise receive a toy for Christmas.  The Toy Drive is held in conjunction with the Hidalgo County Bar Association Black Robe Reception that is held in December of each year.  The annual Holiday Toy Drive benefits the children of ARISE Muniz, a community organization serving Colonia Muniz, a community of 145 families suffering from extreme poverty, located southeast of Edinburg.  We encourage HCBA members, their staff, and friends to generously support the toy drive by conducting office-wide toy drives and/or by bringing new, unwrapped toys to the Black Robe Reception.  Please keep in mind when selecting your toy donations for these children that the children vary in age from infant through 12 years of age.  We want to ensure that each child gets an age and gender appropriate gift.  If you are interested in participating in our Holiday Toy Drive please E-mail the Executive Director, Jeri Worthington, at jeri@hidalgobar.org, or you can call the HCBA and HCBF office at 956-380-1691.
